Month in Review: March 2010

In March we found and purchased our first home. Most of the month was spent packing and signing papers. Inen had his first haircut this month.

Month in Review: February 2010

February, 2010, was when we started to look for our new house. Just because it seemed the thing to do. Not much to show in pics, but that's the way it is sometimes. Enjoy the brevity.

Month in Review: January 2010

Yes, you read that post title correctly – it says "January 2010." I am well aware that it is August, 2011. It has been more than a year and a half since I have posted slide shows. Kids and work (and sanity) come before blog posts (See "Light a Fire, Please", 06/06/11). Alas, I cannot put it off any longer, especially since we had another child, Louisa, in January, 2011.

I will begin a series of catch-up posts featuring a slide show of each month up to the current month, beginning in January, 2010. There will be two monthly slide show posts per day for 10 days, making us current (in pictures at least), by the end of August.

So without further ado, here is January, 2010, in pictures:

Light a fire, please.

Okay, so it's been over a year since I've posted. A YEAR: 12 months of photos, anecdotes, updates... Speaking of which, did everyone find out I had a daughter on January 9th? Just checking, because I sure didn't post it here. Blogging is one of those disciplines that's easy to pick up because everyone's doing it, and then easy to put down again because it's just a virtual past time and there are so many more important things begging for my attention in the real world. Like my kids. And my wife. And my community. And my clients.

But you know what? Some of those people like to be updated and see the photos. And maybe someday someone will want the record of these early years – especially since I'm not keeping a journal either.

So I guess I'd better get on it.
Hope to have something for you soon.

Inen To The Rescue!

This evening I had a bathroom emergency and needed toilet paper. After I called out in distress Korie went to get some, while Inen came to the door to investigate. I told him I needed toilet paper, and to get it for me from Mommy. He left, and Korie came back with a roll. Crisis averted. Meanwhile, Inen asked Korie for the toilet paper. She said she took care of it, but Inen wasn't satisfied. He ran to the other bathroom and was soon back knocking on my bathroom door, having returned to my aid with a wad of TP in hand. It was so sweet! He wanted to personally ensure that I had what I needed. It was just the right amount. My boy is so thoughtful!

(Perhaps this is too much information for some, but Inen made me too proud not to post this. I guess if this kind of thing warrants leaping to my computer to blog, then I should probably get my act together and start posting some of the months of photos and stories that I've backlogged.)

Inen's First Haircut

On March 4th, 2010, Inen got his first haircut. Or maybe that should read "hair cut", because it was closer to 1 hair than a head of hair. :) Scott Ripple did a wonderful job trimming down Inen's tufts, making it look thicker and certainly neater. Thanks, Scott! Korie held Inen and I shot phtotos. Inen sat contentedly in Korie's lap while Scott snipped and I snapped. It was fun! And of course, we brought the meager handfuls of silky locks home with us in an envelope as a keepsake. Here are the pictures:

It's a Good Day

This morning, Inen came in with Korie to wake me up. He plopped down on the bed, gave me a big hug and said, unprompted, for the first time, clear as day:
"Daddy, I love you."

Today can only be a good day.
