On March 4th, 2010, Inen got his first haircut. Or maybe that should read "hair cut", because it was closer to 1 hair than a head of hair. :) Scott Ripple did a wonderful job trimming down Inen's tufts, making it look thicker and certainly neater. Thanks, Scott! Korie held Inen and I shot phtotos. Inen sat contentedly in Korie's lap while Scott snipped and I snapped. It was fun! And of course, we brought the meager handfuls of silky locks home with us in an envelope as a keepsake. Here are the pictures:

It's a Good Day
This morning, Inen came in with Korie to wake me up. He plopped down on the bed, gave me a big hug and said, unprompted, for the first time, clear as day:
"Daddy, I love you."
Today can only be a good day.

We Should Pray About It
Inen and I were at the bank to ask some more questions about home loans. I had put Inen in the chair next to me, and he squirmed around a bit as I talked to the banker. At one point I was looking pensive and thoughtful over something. Inen looked over at me and said, "Pray?" I told him okay, and we held hands and prayed for wisdom, guidance, discernment, and peace in this process. Inen repeated the Amen and the end of our prayer. The banker was a bit misty eyed and declared that was one of the sweetest things she had ever seen. I'm very proud of Inen for initiating prayer. He has been very good for our spiritual lives.

How 'bout...
Once upon a time (sometime after Christmas), Korie was giving Inen a bath. At one point she was singing the alphabet song, when Inen interrupted her saying, "No no no no no! How 'booouuuuut.... Row row." So she sang Row Row Row Your Boat. We were just amazed that he knew how to use the phrase "how about" and suggest alternatives! And he's been doing it ever since, whether we like it or not. The end.

Month in Review: December 2009
With the holidays a blur behind us, I have now (finally) taken the time to post the December month in review slide show. It being February, I should probably put together and post the January slide show, and also take down my Christmas lights. There's always something to do. :)
Enjoy the show!

Turning Pages
Korie and Inen were reading The Monster at the End of this Book.
For those who are not familiar with it, the premise of the book is that there is a monster at the end, and Grover is doing everything he can to keep the reader from turning pages so that they will not reach the monster.
Reading along to Grover's desperate pleas not to turn the page, Inen suddenly yells, "Turn it!"

Month in Review: November 2009
Once again, this has been a month during which I was too busy to post. *Sigh* Well, at least y'all get to see the monthly slide show. Yay!
During this last month my parents finally closed a sale on their house and found one to move into here in town. They were in temporary lodging for a week, and on November 23 – the Monday before Thanksgiving – the movers brought everything to their new home. Hooray! Insane as it may seem, my mom insisted on hosting Thanksgiving at their new house, to break it in and make it feel like home. So after a whirlwind 3 days of unpacking, the house was ready to receive two families – 13 adults and 2 small children – for Thanksgiving dinner. It was great! Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my camera to the occasion, so I'll have to get some photos from my folks. But there's plenty of November goodness to feast your eyes on in this slide show, including some from the November 1 Turkey Feast at the home of our friends, Brad and Liz. Enjoy!
